What German employers usually must confirm for Blue Card files

HR meeting with laptops and notebooks

Candidates sometimes assume the signed contract is enough. In practice, HR is often asked for confirmations that restate role, working hours, place of work, and gross salary in wording authorities can verify quickly.

A clean confirmation letter reduces follow-up questions. It should match the contract figures exactly. Soft language such as “approximately” or “depending on performance” for the base salary invites delay.

Some employers hesitate because they fear legal risk. Providing a checklist of standard confirmations—without asking them to invent immigration advice—usually lowers that friction. Your consultant can supply draft phrasing that HR can adapt.

If your workplace will differ from the registered company address, ask HR to state the actual place of work. Remote or multi-site arrangements are not automatically a problem, but unexplained mismatches are.

Keep correspondence polite and complete in one thread. Fragmented emails with conflicting salary figures are one of the fastest ways to create a messy dossier.
